It is autumn, and you are toddler’s parent. This wonderful time of the year does not remind you of the mulled wine, roasted chestnuts and the rustle of fallen leaves in the park. I believe that associations are now different, aren’t they?
Autumn season brings to toddlers endless colds, rhinitis, fever, and runny nose. And all this because children’s immune systems will be fully developed after the third birthday.
So, now you have no longer the luxury of being ill and lying down with a hot soup while your toddler is calling – Mom, Mom, Mommy!
Follow this three easy tips on how to avoid cold for you and your toddler!
Avoid cold by laughter!
Tickle your toddler, hug them and cuddle knowing that doing all this funny things you are taking care of yours health. Sounds too good to be true? But, it is true!!!
Studies have shown that when we laugh the brain secretes increased the amount of serotonin, which is natural analgesic, and serotonin, known as “happiness hormone”. Serotonin is hormone responsible for good mood and health. In fact, the higher level of serotonin, more health for you!
Every time you smile you strengthens your immune system. Because, the laughter relaxes and represents excellent protection against viruses and bacteria. And when you laugh so hard that you hurt your stomach, or your tears come to your eyes, it is because the lymph flow in your body goes faster. Another mechanism that laugh protects us from the disease is that encourage healthy lymph circulation. In this way, laughter cleans and strengthens the whole body, and your lymph nodes are ready to fight against the real enemy!
Start loving freshly squeezed juices!
Freshly squeezed juices are a great ally in the fight against viruses and bacteria. In fact, numerous studies have shown that the encapsulated vitamin are fairly or wholly ineffective, because although they are all that is specified in the box, our body is not able to use them correctly.
By contrast, the vitamins and minerals from freshly squeezed fruit and vegetables our body absorb quickly.
If you add them honey, ginger, turmeric or cinnamon, you can be sure that you will avoid colds and infections.
When deciding what will you want to add to freshly squeezed juices, keep in mind the age of your toddler and his tastes. Namely, the practice has confirmed that the healthiest juices are absolutely ineffective if the child refuses to drink them! On the Internet is so many different recipes and so many combinations, I’m sure that with a little effort, you can discover a winning combination for your family.
And a little reminder – Your toddlers should drink freshly squeezed juices with a straw or diluted, to avoid damaging of the tooth enamel. You may want to read more about the beneficial effect of freshly squeezed juice and why I think they are the great solution.
Take a walk during the day (even if it rains)
I admit, this is advice that I hardly implemented in practice. I do not like the rain, the wind, and foliage in the streets. I do not like. I prefer listening to the pattering rain from the warm room.
The lack of sun and vitamin leads to an increased risk for the immune system. Due to lower external temperatures that often vary comes to greater propagation of microorganisms, on the one hand, on the contrary, stay indoors, same diet and physical inactivity leading to low immunity.
The health benefits of an outdoors exercise that bring children outweigh the risk of illness due to staying in the cold, experts agree.
Of course, your child needs to be “fully armed” – jacket, scarf, hat, gloves, thick socks and layered clothing. Parents should encourage their children to stay and play outdoor, and it would be good that they participate in the games.
I wish you a pleasant and health autumn. Enjoy!
